please contact me if you lower your price to around $800, as i’d be interested in buying it.

the same 1199 SI unit is currently on sale at Cabela’s for $1300, and it’s newer replacement the Helix 10 SI is only $1500.

I didn’t see the 1199 si on sale at Cabelas. I seen the 1159 with down imaging for 1299. If you could put up the same you found. That would be great

I would do $1400. The cabelas sale that I saw listed the 1158 for $1300. Thats a Down Image unit only. Maybe you saw a different add than me Michael?

The 1199 were going for $1299 with a remote. Now there are limited left and not much for sales. Helix 10 is $1500 which is the new improved version of the 1199 with fast processor, better screen, autochart live. I’ve been watching Craigslist and other sales for an 1199 and a good unit with low hours is going for about $1000. The price then drops as the hours ok the unit increases. You going to have a tough time finding a buy for more than $1000-$1100. At that price they are thinking about spending the extra coin for the new and improved version.

Not trying to to pile on or anything but I just wanted to relay the info to you. I bought a brand new 899 last year and I could maybe sell it for half of what I paid now if I am lucky. That’s the nature of the beast with electronics.

Once all of these old leftover legacy series units found in the basements of warehouses are sold out you will see used prices start to climb back up again…The 9 series units are still very much useful and will be for years to come…

    The unit is SOLD.

Thanks for the concern JAnderson. A 1199SI is a little bit more desirable than a 899SI… Apparently people think still worth some money. Alot of the same features between the helix and the now legacy series. Its not they reinvented the wheel here. I have a helix, and Im staring at the side imagaing wondering… Why did I buy this again? haha.

Guess that is just the “nature of the beast”

Sorry. Didn’t mean to offend. I’m glad you sold it. I’d ask what you got for the unit but I’m thinking you would have already shared that if you had want.

Also, I didn’t compare the 1199 and 899. I gave you market value. If someone bought it for more without research then that’s on them! Congrats.

Also, please give us a review in the helix in the humminbird section. I’m thinking about a helix 10. I am particularly interest in autochart live.

Any other observations over the core unit?

I think alot of folks will be disappointed with Auto-chart Live by not realizing that you only get 8 hours of recording time for free and you can’t export the map to a PC for others to use, if you want more than that, you’ll be forced to buy the special Humminbird Zeroline SD card ($100)… 8 hours will probably only get you 1, maybe 2 lakes recorded depending on lake size and driving speed obviously…yes, you can delete/re-record 8 hours again, but it’s more like a auto-chart live demo…

Very true. However, worth the $100 if it works as it should.

agreed, it’s just an added expense most likely aren’t factoring in..and i’m not sure if the extra space on the zero-line card can be used for snap-shot saving? if not, you’ll be hot-swapping SD cards if you always keep a map card in slot 1.

if you fish small lakes that don’t already have Lakemaster/navionics mapping, then it’s worth it’s weight in gold, if you only fish the more popular lakes (like me) and those lakes already have HD lakemaster maps, it will likely never get used…

Is the Ethernet Networking hub still available?

What is the price on it?

Uhh, no…p6 of the “Spring Great Outdoor Days” flyer for 3/10-3/30:
Humminbird 1199 HD SI with AS RC1 Remote: $1299

I’m glad he sold it and whatever price he was able to find a buyer.

And…I humbly suggest that my offer of $800 was pretty legitimate for a 2-year-used unit considering I can buy a brand new one with warranty for $1300 or an upgrade for $1500. I was simply providing some accurate information about the basis for my offer.

$1300 is a great deal. The drawback is that doesn’t have an internal gps antenna. That is unless you are mounting it under a roof and you need the separate antenna then it is perfect.

What? Yes it does. All 1199s have internal antennas and the listing specifically mentions “Built-in GPS.”
There’s no game here, these are standard SI units for $1300 because they’re clearing out the discontinued models.

I know this forum has gone a little sideways, but I was about to buy helix 10si, but this 1199c from cabelas seems like a pretty good deal. What are the major differences between the two? Is the Helix 10si worth the extra $200? Any thoughts? I have always owned cheap locaters under $300 so this will be a large investment for me. Just want to make the right decision?

It may have been part of the deal for his 1199.

You get a few things with the helix such as longer software support, autochart live capabilities, better processor, better and bright screen. They are both great. If I was buying it would be the helix 10 for the extra 200. But you can get a great unit in the 1199 and use the two hundred to buy map cards or put it towards ipilot link!
