2 pages of law run ins starting in 2003.

He’s not a newbie to to police.

One of the stations was talking about the chase and if the police should have let him go this morning. I didn’t listen to it.

He was a felon in a stolen truck. I think he was lucky they didn’t end the chase in a more lethal way.

When the stolen vehicle was blocked in and the perp was still using the truck as a battering ram,,,,,,,,,,, I was expecting the cops to start firing weapons. I think I would have made that choice under the circumstances.

I was expecting the cops to start firing weapons.

That is the point in the video they shoot out the tires. You can hear the gun fire and the other car calling into dispatch “Shots Fired!”

I’m going to guess he wouldn’t have gotten away.
As a person that was in the act of a felony that was endangering lives of others…it would be in the public’s interest to end it there.

The stolen truck is the instrument of “death or severe bodily harm”.

Hudson Police and St Croix County did a remarkable job.

The “tire” I’d be shooting at in this case would have been the one in the cab of the truck. IMHO Deadly force being used by the perp, should have been responded to with deadly force from law enforcement.

Oh ell…he hasn’t finished his court appearances from Feb ’18 yet!
Of course he’s innocent until proven guilty.

He needs to start a Go Fund Me page for all the fines from past “issues”.

Typical lousy small town police work.
The vehicle should have been let go rather then chased at high speeds through a busy residential area.
Thank god numerous pedestrians weren’t killed.

Personally if I were a cop, I would have fired a shot high at the front drivers side tire.
Hopefully it hit it’s mark. coffee

Again fortunately no innocent people were killed by this officers poor decision.
Mutual aid should have been sought and a plan formulated.

I imagine shooting the tires is going to land this officer into some hot water. Every training I had ever been to in the state of Wisconsin had pretty much said to never do that.

glad they caught him, but how many thousands of dollars of damages to cars and property for car theft charge? seems a little excessive. no banks robbed? didnt kill anyone? just stolen truck? how many car load of families did he run off the road? like i said glad he was caught, but the system is broke. will be out of jail and back at in no time as his record has shown.

I’m not a police officer and don’t pretend to be, but I do work along side them and I would think any reasonable officer would be fine shooting out tires of a boxed in vehicle that is trying to ram its way through occupied police vehicles. As others have said he’s lucky they didn’t fire on the cab which probably would’ve been justified. Now if they were moving at a high rate of speed and they shot out the tires then I could see your point.

I’m not an officer but I do play one on the internet. )

I thought the same thing at first Steve. Take the license number and let him go. With another second of thought, I realized they knew it was a stolen truck and had no idea of who the driver was.

That got him a felony auto theft card. (some will argue still not a reason to risk a lengthily chase)

However, within 30 seconds of the chase it was evident that the driver didn’t care about the lives of others.

That bought him a felony endangering lives of other card.

At that point a bets on a his life are off.

I’m certainly happy no one was hurt and I feel our lousy small town police did an excellent job in my after the fact arm chair.

Your opinion is just as valid as mine of course.

I think the police did a fantastic job. I wonder what kind of squad the main officer was driving?

Had to been AWD or 4×4 to keep up with the perp.

Agreed, although this would have been the right tool for the job,,,,,
