Taking the kids out to the flats tomorrow, wondering how off-road travel is with a pickup after the warm spell and re-freeze??

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been out there. Any help as to depths or spots to get the boys on a few fish is appreciated too!! Just headed out for the day.

    Thanks guys and good luck!

I haven’t been out since the refreeze, but the height of the snow on the lake was cut in half on Sunday.

    Thanks guys

The snow off-road wasn’t too bad…..the fishing however sucked balls. Shutdown city yesterday.

Like TimL said, the plowlines are the biggest obstacle. Getting back onto the plowed road took a little doing waytogo (wish there was a grain shovel emoji)

There was also a dangerous uncrossable crack running through the middle of the flats (if you’re in a pickup). It happened Tuesday night and already had a 1-2″ inches of ice Wednesday. It was about 10″-12″ wide where I saw it.

Be careful and watch out for it. It was between center/8 mile and silver/9 mile and likely goes for miles and miles.

Easy getting around with trucks, like was said, don’t stop on an old fish house drift or road. Good thing we didn’t end up going south from Fishers, could have been bad. Besides a couple toulipee fishing sucked.
