Any dealer recommendations between Alexandria and the north Metro? Looking for a used machine under $2k. Thanks!

This is going to be one of those deals where your best bet is going to be to find a good one on marketplace and jump in the truck immediately and go and get it.

Very few people and businesses buy a hot water pressure washer to use for 4 Saturdays a year. It is hard to find machines used that weren’t commercial machines that were used and abused on a daily basis.

And I know this usually gets me nowhere on IDO but I have to ask the question. Do you really need it enough to bother owning it? Especially the diesel units. I’ve worked on a few of these and they do not like sitting around. Like any other machine that has fuel in it there are a lot of issues if the machine isn’t used enough and the fuel starts getting old. Over the long term renting might seem like a waste of money but it can really be a money saver if this isn’t a piece of equipment that you’re using on a weekly basis.

Also great care has to be taken that these things don’t freeze up. I know everybody knows this but I’ve replaced a pump on one of these units that was a spendy mistake. Heat went out in the shop and the pump had water in it and froze. $$$$$$$.

A 220 hotsy unit is a tough one to beat. Can be powered off a Honda generator and is a sweet unit. Cutting concrete we are always washing new buildings. If they don’t need a acid wash then the hotsy does the trick. Under 2k will be a tough find. Draining water out of them for it to not freeze takes 2 minutes

There’s a diesel Hotsy in Stillwater that looks absolutely mint for 2100.

I agree if you’re set up to run it a 240 volt unit takes away a lot of maintenance issues. As always the trick is finding a good one without a million hours on it for the right price.

It’s gonna be used to wash off snow removal equipment, ice houses, etc…, before we park in the shop. Just cuts down on the excess water in the shop as I don’t have enough floor drains to accompany everything. It will see a fair amount of use minus the summer months.

Something like this is a perfect piece for a shop. 220v hotsy is what we use. And can be portable with the right generator. Most shops and home garages should have 220 if not most can be wired in easily.

Most unit i see 220 and not 240, I personally wouldn’t consider a diesel unless I had a mechanic on hand. The 220 units are easy to maintain and work on

I have no idea why this is but 220, 230, 240 are all referenced in the US and it all seems to work.

Trev, look on Facebook and there’s a guy down by Morris that has a nice looking Hotsy for sale. Only the pump on that unit is 120 volt. As you can see from the pictures the water heating is actually done by diesel.

Yes, I just came across that one. I’m going to check into it. Thanks.
