How to view Garmin mapping on a smartphone or PC?

    Hi Everyone,
I’ve been able to see and compare both the Navionics and Lakemaster mapping of the lake I’m on in Northern WI….using my iphone for both (and additionally the Navionics PC web app). Between the two, they both had a few unique, small structures shown that the other didn’t have at all, or just showed differently…so I’m glad I cross referenced them to check out on the ice. I’m trying to figure out how I can get a look at Garmin’s mapping for a WI lake on an iPhone, or on a PC? I know over the years Garmin has had a lot of mapping products, both when they lost the ability to use the Lakemaster product, and now that they purchased Navionics. I know there also was a time when Garmin’s lake data was 100% the same as Lakemaster, and at other times they were offering products that 100% used there own survey data.

I’m hoping some of you may have already tried to figure out the same thing because you also don’t own any Garmin graphs or chartplotters.

    Thanks!!

You can view the maps from any Garmin Lakemaster SD card or micro SD card using Garmin Basecamp. Download and install Basecamp from Garmins website. Then insert your chip into your PC cards SD slot while it’s running. Make sure you click on the Lakemaster text on the left side of the Basecamp app to load the map onto the app.

As for phones, nothing can be done except to mirror your PC screen onto your phone. You’d have to bring your laptop with. Even then, it won’t show you your current location.
