Friend has a Can Am that he uses around the house for yardwork etc, and it is really rough on the grass when turning, esp.
It uses 26×10-12 rear, and 26×8-12 front tires
Has anyone here converted their wheeler to turf tires, or swapped the tires and rims on similar set-up?

Not a sxs, but I bought some radial street tires for my dads atv from a place out of Iowa and they lasted like 50,000 miles. They looked like motorcycle tires not offroad truck tires. I believe these are the exact ones I got him. There are many others however:

I have a set of off road tires and road tires for my sxs.
I swap them in and out all the time depending on where I’m going to ride.

50,000 miles? Did he replace the tires after 50,000 miles or just toss out the worn out ATV? grin

Nope, the tires are still on it and it runs flawless. 65,000 miles on it now but the tires are absolutely shot. He essentially donated it to Thomas Snow Sports they are going to set up a display for it.

That makes my body hurt just thinking about it.

LOL I have the same machine, year and everything, I have 1500 lol. I went on one of his milk runs one day and it was awful! Way too boring and slow. Its a bummer that Gander Mtn flubbed replacing the wet clutch seal on his original engine or it would likely still be the same one. He had 18000 miles or so on it at that time. AC gave him a brand new 2008 motor and its been flawless. Starts better than mine. In all those miles he is only on his second belt.

Cool story about your dad. That’s crazy I can’t imagine riding that many miles.

To the OP, definitely have him get an additional set of rims to mount the tires on to swap back and forth.
