Well I’ve come to the conclusion that for the first time I’m not going to be getting the boat out of storage, I would like to drain the fuel and put some fresh non oxy with stabil then run and flush(I do this every year) and and put it back in storage till next season. heres the problem I don’t know how to drain the fuel other than run it till it’s really Low.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I’ve never done it, but you could disconnect your fuel line at/in the powerhead and add on a hose long enough to reach the ground (into cans). Then use your primer bulb to start a siphon.

Grounding a wire from the boat to the discharge of the hose would be good practice.

Or just take the kids tubing for 2 hours lol

You can buy a small 12volt fuel pump from amazon or auto parts store. Unhook the fuel line from your engine, remove the fitting if there is one then put the 12v fuel pump onto the end of the fuel line and pump it out.

I remove my fuel sending unit and run a hose out the drain plug hole.

I’ve drained 2 different boats by disconnecting the fuel line at the motor then running the line into gas cans sitting in the kids wagon. I used the primer bulb to get the gas started then just let it siphon. Works best if you have 5 gallons or less in the tank, otherwise make sure you have enough cans to hold all the gas.

I’d use a safety siphon. That is all I use for filling and emptying any tank anymore. It’s extremely easy, no power needed, and they are cheap.

I tried B-mans method yesterday and it worked great. Took a little while but drained 17 gallons from my tank. Whatever else is in there will get mixed with new and stabilizer. Thanks for the tip.
