How OLD is TOO OLD??

I have a awesome female black lab that I planned on breading someday so I never did the surgery when she was a pup.

Fast forward almost 6 years and I still haven’t done anything about it. My plan was to have a older dog and a younger dog at all times. and I thought it would be really cool to have the genetics from one dog your whole life (dont know if thats possible or not) .. The lab I have now is a unbelievable dog. I would really like to have a female pup out of her if I still could. But I don’t wan to risk her well being either, as she is very healthy dog. She will be turning 6 years old in FEB.

Is 6-7 years old too old for puppies?
Anyone out there with any insight to help me?
    Thanks,

Talk with the your vet. If the dog is in good shape then I don’t see why not. Plus you went through that many heats!!! We were going to breed our dogs but it was not for me. So I am 4-5 years away from the started dog.

Not to be the bringer of bad news. Most females that have a heat don’t live past 10
