Staying in side with the better half, hopefully finding a good movie or 2. Maybe even a good game on sunday!

Doesn’t matter if it’s +30 or -30, by the time my shack is set up and I’m fishing, I’ve shed most layers because I’m a sweating mess.

I snowmobiled onto Lac LaCroix one day a few years ago when the outside temp was -36. And I’ll never forget driving out on Burntside Lake for Trout Opener in like 2008-2010 timeframe and my temp gauge on my truck read -41…..That was a freeking COLD morning! But, we managed just fine and even caught fish. I do remember it was close to being a bust though because my Mr. Heater Cooker kept flaming up into a ball of fire, but once that settled down and burned properly, we were fine.

I’m looking forward to getting out tomorrow morning. Some of the best fishing is on the bitter cold days (probably because the lakes are quiet because everyone is too scared to feel a little frost nip on their cheek).

Get out! Have fun! Just be smart about it!

I plan on being out both days, although not at dawn, mid morning. Will be limited to fishing in the Otter

I remember one night we went out and it was -21. I set up my brand new fatfish uninsulated and it was fine inside with a big buddy. However when I set it up next time, the interior had spider cracked from condensation and heat, then froze and I was left with that.
It was worth it though because that lake became private the following year and I ended up with 3 gills in that 9-10″ range that ended up on my wall. I remember my buddy declining to go that night because it was too cold and the fish wouldn’t bite anyway. Good times!

Spoke too soon. Ended up having to work. Who knew in a world where people hate on pipelines, yet they need gas this weekend to heat their homes. 🤷‍♂️ So I will be out in it all weekend, but not on the lake. 😢🥶

Thanks. We now have a number of them over 15″ but we haven’t been able to break 16″ this year.

We let all the big ones go in hopes of getting a 16″ at some point.

I know the fish were cooperative for us this morning. Few walleye and a few bigger pike.
Good day to brave the cold. If I only made my own YouTube videos all of you guys could have watched rotflol

B-Man that’s hardcore to the max!!!

Braved the elements today wow she was a little brutal, but I guess you can’t catch them from the couch. Fishing was actually better than I expected. One thing about weather like this it’s a true test to the equipment you use. Any flaws or weak links and they show themselves real quick!

Nice fish Joe. Love those big pies! Nothing like spending some quality family time in a fish house. If more people did this the world would be a better place.
