How many MX owners fish without your floor carpet?

I’m thinking about removing mine from now on…is there a big loss in comfort?

I just took mine out of my WX and ended up going with a AquaTraction flooring system in place of a bare floor and also put in a wash down system. This way I get the nice finished look and comfort of carpet but without the disadvantages of carpet such as stink, slime, stains, wetness, dirt, hot feet, etc.

I removed mine once to clean it and went on the lake without it.

Found out that the floor gets hot as you know what with bear feet in the summer.

    Carpet went back in.

    That’s what I was worried about…good feedback!

Id take it out when fishing with worms. Especially if they are packed in dirt. The paper is not alot better. I just power wash the bare floor down after a worm weekend.

I remove mine in my wx2060 when I know I’m going to be doing hard core fishing especially if it’s going to be crappy weather where mud and crap will be tracked into the boat. If it’s a leaserly recreation weekend with the kids i make sure it is in as before mentioned the floor gets real hot.

Mine made the ride home and is folded over the stair railing in the garage. It’s never seen shoes or feet.

Don’t have a Skeeter but took mine out of the Lund after it got really wet last spring and never put it back in. The floor does get hot but it’s easier to clean and if you cover it wet, it’s not a big deal. If I covered the boat with wet carpet I would get moldy quickly.

Leave it in! Way more comfortable when trolling all day. Just wash your Crawlers and put them on ice water the night before. You will be shocked at how lively and plump they get, and best of all no dirt! Get a 5 gallon bucket, a styrofoam bait bucket designed for the 5 gal. bucket. Pull worms from there packing and put them in a several inches of water, swirl them. Then put 3-4″ of water in bait bucket, put clean crawlers in water, then take an 8lb bag of ice and put in bait bucket. Put bait buck in 5 gal bucket with a lid. I get one of those Plano tackle box lids designed for 5 gal bucket, holds my blades, weights. I have had 12 dozen in there for several days, pour out water and add ice as needed. When the crawler bit is on, you need big clean crawlers.

We took our carpet out the day we brought our boat home. No complaints to this point.

Carpet has never been in the boat since day 1. When guiding, trolling, etc. I use $30 ergo rubber mats for comfort.

Took the carpet of my MX2025 before it hit the water. Bought indoor outdoor carpet, cut it out using the factory carpet as template and put snaps on. Not as soft or thick as the factory carpet, but it’s a lot lighter and cleans up easy and dries fast. Since I don’t have much invested in it, if it gets stained or ruined, it can easily be replaced. I also cut strips to match and lay over the bow carpet.

My experience is several folks do both for different reasons. Family mode with kids and winter cold weather fishing lean towards keeping it in.

Die hard live bait guys take it out. If ever fishing salmon ,pike, or catfish, I highly recommend taking it out. Great to have the option though !

I’ve never used it. I love the easy cleanup.

When the kids are in, carpet is in, otherwise it is out. I have grown to like not having the carpet in on my 2060.
