It’s 15 plus degrees out; ice house heater is a 35k btu suburban heater with 4 vents ; 3 of the vents are pushing out fast, the 4th is alittle slower but all hot air. it’s been running 1.5 hrs now to heat up to 68 degrees. Lux digital thermostat; maybe these gray wolf houses don’t have insulation!

1.5 hours is crazy! My 8×16 takes like 15 minutes with the furnace alone. If it’s really cold out I turn my little buddy heater on also to get the temp up at first.

You have to consider everything inside the house was at below freezing temperature. You can get the air temp up reasonably fast but it takes hours for the the rest to catch up.

I would not say 15 minutes to get to 68. Maybe and hour and a half sounds a little long, but it does take some time to get it up to temp. I would say somewhere between 30-45 minutes and it should be there. Like coletrain said could use a buddy heater or start the range as long as your careful.

One tip i’d recommend is to start the furnace before even driving onto the lake. Gives the house time to warm up while you find a spot/unload etc.

Lots of things could be the cause. 1.5 hours does seem a little long and I’d be curious if it maintains temp once reached. Sometimes I will use a buddy heater to help get to temp quickly and dry out the floor

    – did you bank your house?
    – is the house up on blocks?
    – do you have hole sleeves down?
    – can you feel a cold draft from anywhere (windows, holes, door, etc)

If your furnace is blowing hot, I’d be looking for heat loss factors

How much propane are you going through in 24 hours? I go through about 2/3 of a #30 tank. I always bank my house well and use hole sleeves also. Banking your house makes a huge difference in keeping the draft out

If starting from dead cold, that thermostat is mounted to an ice cold wall. A lot of house owners install an insulated backer behind the thermostat so it more readily responds to air temperature.
