I see some of you have been around a LONG time here on IDO. I’m curious to see how long everyone has been lurking around the IDO forum.

I’ve been creeping on here for about 3 years, posting on here for about the past year.

This May will be about 12 years for me. I joined back when it was two separate sites – IDO hunting and IDO fishing. I wish I had saved screenshots of the old websites. Would be fun to look at now and reminisce!

Probably since around 2013. Originally joined when I moved to MN and was looking for local fishing hotspots, knowing nothing about the area. Quickly realized that IDO isn’t going to hand out GPS coordinates, but instead is going to make you a life long fisherman by teaching you how to fish.

My dad taught me everything he knew about fishing (panfish and walleyes)… turns out he taught me very little. If the eyes didn’t bite on a Little Joe spinner, they just weren’t biting.

I was struggling on the St Croix around 2001/02 and while loading the boat there was a decal stuck to the wall. www dot fishtheriver dot com or it might have been www dot electronicfishingnetwork dot com can’t recall for sure.

Went home and logged in. Dave Koonce posted a picture of a carp that my neighbor caught. Uploading a photo was new to me.

I fished with a ton of Ido members…I started to name them but that would take up way too much space!

I didn’t know anything about fishing including what a Superdoo, Ringworm or a current break was…just to name a few. Reading the reports, asking questions and just talking to the guys made me realize I didn’t know anything.

I owe everything fishing related to the folks on Ido. bow

Short answer? 19 years and 100,000 posts with just a handful being worth while. )

    2005 or 2006 I think. How do I check?

I became a member when it was in-depth angling.

    ” I fished with a ton of Ido members…”

Yup, but you’re still avoiding me! We have to get this done BK. Pool 4 White Bass with fly rods, maybe?

Don’t know how long I’ve been here, early 2000’s maybe? I remember seeing pictures of Steve Dezurik holding monster Pool 2 Walleyes and being totally astonished.

gotta be about 14 years ago? Met some good fishermen on here and learned a lot about fishing… started out as “King185” – first boat was a Monark King185. Just ‘upgraded’ to a Alumacraft Competitor Sport 185. Looking forward to open-water season again!

Just went back in my messages, and looks like about 5 years which was about the time LakeStateFishing started it’s decline to life support. Made a lot of real life friends and learned a lot!

5-6 years total. I have enjoyed this site so much I have it set up to be the first thing open when I log onto my pc. I have learned so much for IDO and not all of it has to do with fishing. Thanks for sharing all the great information everyone. toast

I think about 7-8 years now, with a few years before that of lurking.

Has become a part of my daily routine for sure.

Been hanging around since Fish the River days. Never post much as I am not too good at the river but I think I have the sheep-head figured out.

BK thanks for the camera work on the thumbnail picture or what ever it’s called 👍
