I ordered 2 Ultimate rattle reels that have a swinging mount. How high should I mount them mid level high up? I don’t want to trip on them or be an issue with drilling holes. Thanks

I have mine about 40” high. I have the same ones and they swing out of the way easily so it’s never a problem. You could mount them on the ceiling and still trip over the line.

Personal preference. My rule of thumb is high enough I don’t bend over and spill my beer when winding up or letting out line. grin

Never measured but about 40 inches sounds right. But what ever feels right is good.

5 or 6 feet so you don’t hit your head or auger on them.

How tall are you. If it is five or six feet I’m hitting my head. jester

High enough to barely reach while sitting in a chair. Too low leads to the backlash of death on a good hookset.

Last year, I converted all mine to the undercover ones. They hook to your hole sleeves and you can put your clear covers over the hole. They are awesome and give you so much more room in the house. Especially if you have dogs in the fish house! One of the better upgrades I’ve done in the fish house.
