It’s been many years since I learned about how extreme heat can stress walleyes, much like extreme cold. Anyway, in this video clip, I caught a 16″ walleye that ran into a crib and got us snagged up. I’m not tangled long and to my surprise, I still had the fish on the line! Anyway, I’m sure the fish was struggling as much as I was and by the time I pulled it up, there wasn’t much fight left. Anyway, take a look at what this fish does when I release it. Between 2 nights of fishing, I had 4 others do this. Water temp was 78.4F and 80.9F respectively and I was never in water deeper than 15′.
How easy are the walleyes stressing in these warm summer temps?
