I figured I’d get rid of my old boat so it doesn’t sit up north anymore. I was going to give it to my nephew that lives in Nebraska. I live in Wisconsin. If I gift it to him for 0 dollars what are the steps we have to take to transfer the title and registration so it’s in his name and registered for use in Nebraska? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Sell it for 1.00 and then just sign everything over
Does it have a trailer? I believe that requires a few more steps.
I was gifted just a boat last year and all we did was go to the DMV and they had him write a letter saying “I (so and so) am gifting (so and so) the (type of boat). Signed and dated by both parties. Also be sure both of you keep a copy of the letter for your records.
May be a bit more going to a different state but shouldn’t be too much hassle.
