Their address brings you to Manhattan. A questionable place to have a fishing store. Yes they do offerbin store pickup. They don’t have a phone number either.
If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
As long as you use a credit card and not a debit card…go for it! Seems fishy too me but your cards are protected.
I looked at the site, looks very professional, but it has to be a SCAM.
“FREE AIR SHIPPING WORLDWIDE”
I’m sorry, but that is a red flag in itself. Especially when you’re selling a $1,000 graph for $100
It looks like a Phishing fishing site. Not necessarily going after your money, but suckering you in to mine your personal data.
At minimum you’ll be giving them a name, address, e-mail, and phone number, not to mention a credit card number.
DON’T DO IT
prices they are charging can’t possibly cover their cost of the product. Scam, as mentioned very professional looking scam, hard to not order and hope for the best.
At minimum you’ll be giving them a name, address, e-mail, and phone number, not to mention a credit card number.
If you look at their FAQs, they say a phone number is mandatory.
if any of you are questioning, the site is being hosted from China, I’ll admit, I was tempted too, but when i got to the checkout and they said paypal was an option but i couldn’t use my paypal account, alarm bells started screaming.
According to their website they have brick and mortar stores called Cmvips. Google it. You get their website and nothing else.
also, from an Australian fishing group.

……What’s the worst that could happen??

How about this, all you guys send me $5 and when I get $100 I’ll buy the graph and let the rest of you know how it turned out.
They have similar sites with power tools (Dewalt, Mikita, etc) on Facebook. Try leaving a comment on their page and then after you leave it try viewing it. I almost bit on those sites too. Go ahead and take a chance. I would rather not try to work through a fraud complaint with my CC company.
Phew,,, it’s just a credit card number. I say GO FOR IT! What’s the worst that could happen? Come on….do it! They steal the card number, you call and it’s insured so no loss. Plus you get a different card number so it’s ACTUALLY making your life SAFER….????
For what it’s worth, I’ve my debit card hacked twice in the last year. Once to make $1100 worth of consecutive $100 make-up purchases at a Alta online shop in Ohio, and once to spend every cent in the checking account in Russia, all in one purchase. Of course I was given a new card after the Alta theft.
It’s not a huge deal for that to happen in terms of the current card itself — you just get a new one and have $0 to lose. However, I have to wonder if it leads to further identity theft. Your name, birthdate, social security, address, purchase patterns, etc don’t get changed. All of the other things associated with that credit card doesn’t change. I’ve had this happen three times total in 20 years, yet this last pair of events happened twice in a year with separate cards.
For what it’s worth, my money says you try and buy something and it’ll be backordered. Meanwhile, the wheels of identity theft will be rolling. Those items cost way more to make than what they’re trying to sell them for.

Similar situation with a generator I was wanting to purchase. The price was just too good to be true. I took a screen shot, sent it to the manufacture and asked if the source was a legit dealer of their products. Their response, nope it is a scam.
It’s obviously a scam. For those saying give it a shot??? It’s not going to work so how’s it worth a shot??

Exactly.
I think some are being sarcastic. Some aren’t though. Those of you that made it all the way to the payment page probably have already given your phone number and email address to these scammers.

I’m not sure if they’re serious (identity theft = new credit card = safer???), but either way, people posting on here have nothing to lose.

Yes guys…we are joking. I can’t imagine one going thru with it.
In case anyone was wondering if they missed out on the deal of a life time. https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/new-york/profile/fishing-gear/fevipscom-0121-176582
It’d be funnier if you got actual knockoff products with half-assed names and marginal functionality – kinda like the Simpson’s episode shopping for a TV…

What’s funniest is these people think the BBB actually does something. They are as much of a scam as the business linked to in the first post.

BBB was more like amazon reviews before amazon. It had a purpose although it wasn’t extremely effective.
