I’m pretty familiar with the GPS, PC transfer operation. I’m looking for a program or way, to create routes or Waypoints from sonar charts on my PC, then transfer them to my Helix. I used to use hotmaps, but it doesn’t have the tight sonar charts. I’m going to purchase Navionics + for my Helix 5, DI GPS, but have no way other then painful 5″ screen scrolling. Any Idea’s ??

Download humminbird PC from the humminbird site. That works really well for that stuff. You can load way points and look at them via Google earth.
I need to view sonar charts on my pc, and transfer waypoints to my HB. Google earth is only Ariel view.
Years ago I bought a program from navionics that allowed you to look at their map chip on a PC, but I don’t think there is anything like it out anymore for navionics. I know from experience that it would erase the navionics chip if you didn’t use the card reader and the correct cable that came with the program 😨. I now have conture elite by lakemaster that you can look at Lake maps and create trails and transfer them to your locator, but it is about the same cost as buying another chip, but the program works well. My only complaint is the Minnesota program just like their chip doesn’t include lotw or rainy lake. You have to pay an extra $100+ to get that coverage.
