Better stock up on lanterns and wool socks. There’s going to be cold dark winters in our future.

Coleman will stop producing white gas soon if not already so I would suggest a dual fuel lantern. And also propane and electric lanterns flame

Wow. Wonder where they get their info from. Wind power is some of the most costly power there is. Wonder what the environmentalists will think when they construct many more wind turbines which are known to kill birds that fly into the blades. Solar works really well at night and on cloudy days. Now if they are going to have batteries that are charged from the solar for power when the panels aren’t producing wonder where we will be getting all the minerals needed for all theses batteries plus all the batteries in electric vehicles they want us to drive. Wonder how the recycling of the batteries will happen. Don’t get me wrong, we should try to not impact the environment any more than necessary but it seems all the politicians making all these laws and it would be nice to see a plan on how they plan to attain all this.

correct but we need people on the other side hammering those goofballs for answers. I know I do when I’m talking to someone that’s all gungho over the green thing!

Although I do not agree that going carbon free is such a great idea until we have better and more sources of clean energy, this is what happens when you lose an election.

If that’s their plan they better pass a bill that turns the lights out on all of the parking lots in the state, as well as all the lights on the outside of your homes.

meh turn off the power in the state capitol and white house, we’d be better served!!

Gimruis, like I said in the other thread I don’t believe winning or losing an election has as much to do with it as politicians listening to these fruitcakes that are overboard. Most these can’t see the long term in front of there nose.

I disagree. The democrats control both legislative branches and the governor’s office. I am not a democrat, so I can’t comment on whether they are listening to their “fruit cakes.” There is going to be more of these kinds of bills coming too, you can bet on it. 4 years of it Glenn.

These sort of bills didn’t pass when conservatives controlled the MN Senate. I specifically remember a bill that came up on lead that didn’t pass. B-Man even posted about it.

IDO: “Let’s keep burning fossil fuels and never have any innovation in energy…we’re all sportsman but screw the loons cuz I need lead jigs…but, the wind turbines kill birds so we hate the wind turbines… also, did you know tires cost more than $50?”

    You guys kill me…

Hey now I am leaving my front lights on. They are dusk-dawn 100W LEDs. The 3 of them use 42W combined.

Thing is … this legislature knows that the DFL trifecta will not likely ever become a Republican trifecta any time soon. Social agenda is the priority.

Actually Gin, hopefully in 2 years the tide will turn.

Matt I never said screw the loons or I need lead jigs. The fantasy about windmills is just that. Do you realize how spendy they are?! They’ll never ever pay for themselves. There burying them by the tons because they aren’t recyclable. Solar panels are a hazardous waste after there toast in roughly 30 years. Not to mention the power grid isn’t close to being capable.

Good luck plugging your car in at a public access.

That’s right, rep tenures are 2 years. I was thinking they were 4 like the governors tenure.

Come on now Matt. IDO isn’t against green energy, it’s just too hard right now. We’re just going to wait for another country to lead the way, like China, then we’ll jump on board. It’s the American way.

I’m just having a little fun, Glenn. But, I’m pretty sure I could plug in a electric car at Harriet or Calhoun if I had one…

Somehow I’ve made it my whole life without ever getting gas at a public access.

    More nukes!

This bill also bans any new nuclear power plants.
The reality of it is if there is only solar, wind, or turbine from the river there will not be enough power for home heat cars and industry.
There will not be any excess energy to be wasted.
The politicians will do what they have been paid to do regardless of where we live.

They are going to force everyone to accept less. They have no intention of allowing us (lower and middle class) to continue living like we have been.
Ironically we have the ability to change all that.

Unfortunately our children are NOT taught to think critically and our higher Ed system caters to the 6% loonydom out there. That’s what driving this now. The majority of people either don’t want this but don’t vote or don’t undersrr TD and the ramifications and do vote for the shiny new penny.
The govt lives at the expense of the people, not the other way around.

Republicans unfortunately have not held a MN trifecta the past 30 years (maybe more). Getting one side back will stop the social agenda moves but the full trifecta will be needed to reverse anything.

Not everyone will be asked to live with less. Redistribution of wealth benefits some.

Those with a ton of money will feel no measurable impact on actual lifestyle.

Interesting how this bill passed in the same week as mining for those same minerals needed to go carbon free was banned. I looked up the definition of stupid and saw a photo of the DFL caucus.
