Fishing has been pretty good lately, but I expect it to get tougher over the next few weeks. I’ve caught all species in shallower water than typical years. Focus on points and any tall weeds you can find. Ceder Island, Horseshoe and Becker as always seem to be producing more than other lakes. Try fishing later in the evening when most of the boat traffic has calmed down, this has been the ticket to my success. So far this year my biggest fish have been a 10 lb Northern, 19.5 inch Smallie and a 5.2 lb Walleye. Lots of other above average fish too, so far it’s been a good year on the SRCL, can’t wait until it really turns on in the fall!
