After the monster storm we had Friday night 8/10, water levels raised a few inches and the fishing turned on. I had very good luck fishing extreme cover in Ceder Island and Becker lakes. Bass were in very shallow water holding extremely tight to cover. Best action was around 3pm Saturday with the sun beating down causing fish to hold in any shady cover they could find. Biggest fish was about 3.5 lbs but lots of 2+ lbs fish, so it was fun. I used a bullet weight rig with a gamukatsu hook and a soft plastic called “The Beast” – I went through a whole bag of them in an hour…
