This afternoon I couldn’t help myself knowing that the water temps had finaly broke 50 degrees. Yesterday while panfishing I noticed the carp were roaming in the shallow bays. Well I got the carp gear that I have been stock piling this spring put together. This was my first time tring diehard carp methods includeing boilies and hair-rigs. I started with pineapple flavored boilies and had action with in minutes. No pigs, I lost the biggest one at shore after a hard battle. Average size was around 5 pounds. But I made it up with numbers, catching 15 carp in all.
Oh yes, the crappies were still in deeper water yesterday but willing to bite. My advice would be to leave the minnows at home and use wax worms.
