I know some people protect this information like it’s national security, but is anyone willing to share some of their good Smallmouth spots on the chain? I’ll give one up, around the small island in Ceder Island lake near the neon green shallow warning bouys. Pulled several large fish out of that area last year. Lots of rocks in that area that hold fish.

The Highway 22 bridge is excellent the entire open water season. There are also many deep rock points in Horseshoe that hold fish all the time.

I am not a dedicated bass man. But would like to contribute a spot that may be worth a visit at certian times of the year. The big point out from the 71 access on Cedar has given up some while I have been working it for those other fish with the white tip on their tails…

I like that spot, long point of about 8-10 feet of water with a big drop on one side

This post is interesting. I’ve caught a few smallies on the chain but only by accident while fishing for Largies.
Wish I could contribute. I caught one on the hwy 22 bridge
and way down the river in Richmond off the old railroad bridge. Chain is sure a diverse fishery. I can’t get up there enough.

I’ve been fishing the Chain every weekend for the past 7 years, the Smallmouth fishing is alot better now than the Largemouth. They haven’t caught up in size yet, but it should only be a couple more years until that happens.

Are you the Skeeter when you start up the river in the no wake zone? I fish the chain alot normally, but my buddy that normally comes up with me passed away from cancer and
I just haven’t quite gotten over it yet. It was our favorite pass to fish especially in the fall.
