    stopped by the cabin this weekend, saw some dark spots in the heavy current areas, but no open water spots yet…

    there where vehicles on the ice yet sunday evening. looks like they shut down the winter access to horseshoe. it looks really bad!

    The river channels are starting to open up, i suspect the entire river channel will be open by this weekend. Then all it takes is wind to break up the main lake chunks and push it on the shorelines. I predict the lake will be ice free by April 26th.

    Majority of the snowpack is gone too, so hopefully that means there will be less flooding this spring..

    my guess is it will be open before the 26th. the ice is looking pretty black in some places.

    I read Horseshoe Don’s report saying the ice was coming off fast the last few days, any new updates today with all this wind we’re having?

    21 here this morning. Cold week ahead.
    Wind should continue to break up the ice, I think it will be at least another week or two before total ice out.
