No really I got a Hog.
I ran out to Paynesville yesterday to pick up a hog I was having processed, so on the way I took the scenic route through the chain of lakes. Got my fix in Cold Spring, the Sauk River was open and the Fishing dock was a pleasant site. God open water felt good. I envy the guy’s who live down by the river. The ice is pulling away from all shorelines about 25 ft. The Horseshoe channel is open about 100 yds. into the lake. I also went buy Eden, Mud, Rice and Koronis. The channel between Rice and Koronis looked inviting too. Should be happening in the next seven days or so. My Dad was over at his buddy Bernie’s welding a dock section up. They’re chomping at the bit to get back out on the water. Bernie said Lake Ripley in Litchfield is open. The Cricks are flowing and shortly the fish should start running. Needless to say it’s getting close to ice out in these areas.
