Catfishing report for 8/12/2011

    Well we did manage to score a couple of smaller cats and one that was about 5 pounds but we did manage to catch this bonus walleye….27.5″ My personal best. She was caught and released of course.

    Released at the landing. She put up quite a fight so I put her in the livewell for a while with some U2 oxygen enhancer and the areator on hi to make sure she was going to make it.

    Nice job and way to go on the release (I wish others would do the same) I’ve seen more large Walleyes caught in August then ever before, it must be due to the high water levels the past month. I’m getting everything ready for the fall bite, that’s when I focus on the big Walleyes again..

    The last time I went i got to the river about 2 hours before dark, and ran out of night crawlers before dark. But I have fished after dark and the bigger fish seem to bite better after dark.
