I mounted the head unit on the bow and the black box just under the bow cubby hole. They are maybe 3 feet wiring wise away from each other. Using the ice fishing power cord adapter I have my portable lithium battery within a foot of the head and black box. Fuse to battery and separate fuse going to black box. This should work I believe. It’s just like the ice fishing bundle and I have a switch to shut the power off. Thinking of a small ammo can maybe to put the battery in. Would I need heavy wiring going to the switch maybe 8 inches total away from battery?

Answer is no. 14ga wire will hold 15 amps and 16ga wire is good for 13 amps. According to the automotive scale even 18ga wire is acceptable for 15amps and 10’ long. I would probably go with 16ga wire just to be safe. Bigger/heavier gauge wire won’t hurt you but going too small would.

You can buy them prewired or as a kit. They have a step by step u tube video that will walk you through the wiring.
