I need a hook keeper added to a rod. Is there anyone in the Hastings/Red Wing area that could do that? I’ve had some repairs done at Thorne Bros but wont be up that way for a while. I’ve seen the little rubber deals but would rather an integrated type.

if you can find the holder you could do it yourself. Use sewing thread and then clear fingernail polish on the thread.
    It works.

I use a small piece of self adhesive Velcro. The hooks don’t fall off of it.

Easey enough to do. I just don’t know of a shop in that area. You could do what gimp suggested. It is not like a guide were failing during a battel could be disastrous. They also make hook keepers that have a bungie on them and strap on.

I’ve had rods repaired at Blue Ribbon Bait. They send them out and the guy that did mine turned it around both times within a couple days. That would be closer than Thorne Bros.
