I am thinking about dumping my older heavy @#$ E3000 for the new EU2200i that Honda has now for my house. Should I be waiting for the Ice Fishing Show for a good deal or where are guys buying them at a fair price. I’m going to now need a extended fuel tank system with the smaller on-board Honda tank. Thoughts…

You may find them on sale certain places, but Honda has a pretty set price. You usually get gift cards to offset the costs when they go on “Sale”. Cash price at the ice show may be something to consider, but I am unsure who lugs generators to the show, never really looked.

Mine came from Northern and I believe I got a $150 or $200 gift card when I bought it…

Keep an eye on the L&M Fleet ads from now until the beginning of December. They typically run a sale of $75-100 off. Best sale I’ve seen. Acme Tools may do the same if I recall.

I would watch northern tool for their specials, I get about 12 hours of run time on one gallon of gas.

As far as extended run, I would look for the BERG system from IPI Industries Midwest. Its the only one I have seen work ok, but to be honest I found it to be more of a PITA than just topping it off with a gallon from a normal tank every 8 to 12 hours if needed.

Honda’s are great units, but I would also look into Yamaha units.

I know Costco has a 2000W max / 1600W running Yamaha for right around $550.
Its rated noise level for 65dBA

    Honda EU2200i is at 2200W max / 1800W Running 59dBA cost about $950

Depending on your power needs and wallet I think Yamaha shouldn’t be over looked.

    Champion also has a DUAL-FUEL 2800wt Running / 3100wt, Propane or Gas for $900

That’s how I got mine. Cheapest I could find other than used.

Sure other generators have up’d the quality game, but personally trust Honda’s.

I bought my first one at the Ice Show in St. Paul from Beisswenger’s quite a few years ago. Don’t recall the exact price, but it was definitely a deal compared to the prices I was finding at the time.

The second one I got off Craigslist. It was barely used (and not stolen). The guy had it pawned for collateral at Pawn America. I think I got it for $450 ) (I paid him, and he got it out of the pawn shop)

Both have been excellent generators and still running great.

I’d consider putting up a wanted ad before buying new. You could maybe get lucky like I did and save a ton of cash.

That Yamaha from Costco is a knockoff. Its not a Yamaha generator. If u look closely it says something like designed by Yamaha but produced by some unknown
