Bingo. Kids should be taught gun safety from the age of 3 at least in my house. My kids are very trained to have guns in the house, and at the same time they still will never have access to a fire arm with out my permission and access codes or finger prints. I mainly want them to be ready just in case a friend or some one is stupid enough to pull out a weapon later in life. Because kids can be stupid. Kids need to be trained way beyond basic gun safety

Just recently near Hinckley a 3 year old found his Father’s loaded 9mm handgun and fatally shot himself in the head WHILE the Father was in the basement. Apparently the gun was laying on top of the safe. Failure to secure a loaded weapon and failure to supervise your own child turned deadly. Unreal.

That’s horrible and a irresponsible gun owner. Never should that gun be out and accessible. I’ve taught both kids gun safety since they were 3. Just because we are around guns all the time. Not free to grab and out in the open but we shoot alot and safety and responsibility needs to be beat in to a child’s head as soon as they can take in information

Sad deal and that parent should be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law. As should any parent who leaves a loaded firearm out for a 3 year old to get his hands on.

I got to shoot a siaga 12 with a giggle switch at ahlmans gun show a few years ago and I think that with some nice little chainsaw and flamethrower attachments would be just about right for in home protection. The flamethrower is for spiders of course.
