Home Automation / Electrical Question

Any home automation / electrical experts out there?

There are four outside lights on the front of my home. 2 are controlled by a switch by the front door, the other two are on the attached garage, controlled by a switch in the garage.

I’m not exactly sure what the logic was in separating them (to me, all lights on or off). Wires are in-wall; outside of some extensive re-wiring in the attic & dropping lines down into walls, going that way is a no-go easily / cheaply.

The ideal solution would be to have all 4 lights come on from the light switch by the front door. Is anyone aware of an electrical or IOT type of device that would trigger some sort of remote relay for the 2 garage lights based on the switch being flipped at the front door, which would still control the lights by the front door, or some variation that still includes a light switch?

I know I can go the smart light bulb approach for all 4 & just do this that way, but some people in the house are fans of having it all tied to a light switch.

You could probably install a Wi-Fi switch on each and do a IFTTT. I am currently installing a Wi-Fi switch for my front lights that is compatible with the geeni app. It has some cool scheduling but it may not do the same as what you are looking for. I do think the IFTTT app could do that though.

If you have Amazon Alexa you can install Wi-Fi enabled switches and then just say Alexa turn on outside lights. All the lights will come on at once.

I have switches and plugs in the house so that I can turn On/off many lights by voice command. Everything is also on a time routine where it comes on at dusk and then shuts off automatically at 11:00.

    I appreciate the feedback Biggill & Grouse…

What I ended up doing is purchasing two Shelly 1 plus devices, wiring them in & syncing them through “webhooks” which is working out really well.

The switch at the front door still works as intended, with the added bonus of being able to turn it on via my phone / schedule it as needed.
