Most of the recent posts are about gear so throwing out some pics. Feel free to add from this week. I got out yesterday morning. It was 5 degrees and I got cold but had I used my shack instead of running I would not have done well. Ended up with a perfect sized meal for last night. 8 gills and 3 perch. NW Sconny. The gills were biting slow but running big. Pic is 3 9 inchers. Biggest was 9.25. The remaining 5 gills were not much smaller. Perch were cleanable with the biggest being 10. They were a pleasant surprise since this was not a perch lake and small. Can’t wait to get back out once it warms slightly. I have several places I want to try this week. Oh I forgot my ice scoop. Fyi the auger cover will work in a pinch but I don’t recommend it! Lol

December 29, 2021 at 5:06 pm #2085253Had a nice flurry of panfish going, when all of a sudden they all scattered. Look at my snare rod and it just got nailed by this slimeball!
She put up a heck of a fight, thrashed the inside of the shack, slimed everywhere, but sure will taste good with some fries and tators tonight!
Ended up with 8 crappies, six sunfish and the pike.
My little one wanted a picture but she was a little nervous😬Attachments:

Had a 900′ freighter sneek up on us.
My son “won” a goldfish from a fair this summer so now he has to co.e everywhere… he got a buddy for a few minutes.

December 30, 2021 at 9:59 am #2085418Some nice looking fish everyone. I’ve been having a hard time getting myself motivated this year. I’ve been battling a cold for a few weeks now and with the cold forecast for the next week or so, its probably not going to happen for awhile. This is by far the latest into the ice season I’ve gone prior to getting out. Hopefully if I keep seeing all the picture from you guys I’ll get myself motivated and get out there.

I spear alot. Them darn bass are agravating. they come up to your hook and line, sniff, maybe bump the hook and swim off like there stuck up. an hour later they attack it like they never ate before.
Red EyePosts: 943December 30, 2021 at 12:58 pm #2085522Out of red lake and in the pan in short time. Don’t get any fresher. Fresh eyes and Hamms go together like peanut butter and jelly.
