I’m new to this site. It is hard to find any forums that have a lot of people that fish Holcombe. My parents purchased a home up there last summer. We fish the channes and go in the bays for northerns but we never been able to find a good concentration or good action on walleye’s. I’m not asking for spots (unless you care to share) but how do you fish this lake for walleye’s what do you use where are they. Heading up this weekend hope to find some more fish. Thanks for the help

I have a seasonal site on Holcombe. I am up there most weekends. Have been doing fair on walleyes just not much for big fish. Mornings and evenings have been best. I have been taking most casting shallow running cranks in new weed growth 4 to 6ft with deeper water close by. If u need more info or would like to join me sometime feel free to pm me.

We typically get a mixed bag of small Walleyes, Perch or Crappies jigging on the edges of the channels, but no great concentrations.

    Just and Update!
On friday night my wife got two walleyes late in the evening. We wer in 4 fow in weeds. she had on a jig with half a night crawler. Saturday we didn’t catch anything until the evening. My dad found about 5 nice gills and two nice perch in the weeds by the jump. I got a nice small mouth which I returned. Hope to get out today.

Fishing was a little tougher this weekend. Saturday morning was best caught several walleyes then the boat traffic came and the bite was gone. Sat evening chased muskys caught 1 34in saw 3 more.Sunday I trolled the channel caught 2 slot walleyes and 4 northerns.Seems like the walleyes are spread out all over cant narrow down a pattern. Should be less boats this weekend hope to do better.

Did well weekend before last. With all the rain the walleyes are stacked in the Jump and Main Creek. Jigs and cranks both worked well. look for 8 to 10 ft of water with some wood. I will be up there for the next 10 days. Check your pm.

I have spent many years fishing holcombe and have had my best walleye fishing around the 27 bridge near the jump trolling deeper water with hot n tots , brighter colors work best for me keep your speed 1.0 to 1.5 but dont be afraid to mix thing up a bit as far as color and speed go. the weed line next to deeper water by the island on the north side of the bridge is a great spot for bigger fish early in the evening. keep us posted!!!

We got out yesterday and on Sunday. Sunday found some nice perch and panfish around the weeds by the jump. Yesterday tried for walleyes in 14FOW in the main channel. No luck there.
