The question has been nagging me. What would I miss the most? I wrote a list of things that I found in my log books of 27 years that jumped out at me. Some things on the list were just childhood memories. The list was really long and there was only one fish involved. There were things written in my logs that happened almost every year. Here are my top ten:
    1. The rush of the unknown potential of what lays beneath the water on every cast.

I don’t have such a list….hummmm…maybe it would be interesting, or scary to make one?
But in a quick thought, I think I’d miss my ‘sight’ first, then ‘hearing’. Sense of ‘smell’ would be last. I hate the smell of skunks, and those other very foul odors. I could probably lost some weight to, because smell goes along with taste, so I’d likely eat less….

    Len,

Are you speaking from the perspective of not being able to get around as much due to your recent surgery? I think the last one was a knee surgery, correct? If I am correct, then mine would be able to get lost on a hike.

    Len,

How come your top 10 seems to have only the first item?

Is that a statement or am I missing something that should be showing me 9 more items?

This trout came out from a weedy edge about 2 feet in front of me that could not have been 6 inches deep. The stream is typically gin clear and you can step over it in most places. The right under your nose saying was the rule of the day here.
