Driving through anoka today i glanced over at the dam and noticed that the the downstream side is almost level with the upstream side. Just saw a post on Fox News that an ice Jam is causing flooding. Hoping my downstream fishing spot doesn’t get wiped out (

Your avatar pic from the bend at river Park in BP?

I wonder where it jams up over there. Maybe the ice will dredge out that channel better for spring night trolling whistling

Close, its the CR side, the old powerhouse channel. I’m interested to see what happens.

That video was pretty cool. Wild spot for a jam, that’s pretty open up that way.

I have a pretty good high water spot up that way, might have to make my way over with the season open still.

I got a weather alert saying flood warning in Coon Rapids and I’m like WTH? Barely snowing even. I just figured it was a SNAFU.

A friend of mine lives just up river from the Ferry St Bridge. His neighbor that has lived there for 40 years said the river had come up 7′ since Saturday.

I wonder if it’s due to the new crest gates. For so many years it was wide open all winter, now they keep the pool elevated all year. Seems like the first warm January we have had since they installed the new gates in 2015. I know ice dams were a huge problem with the original gates they took out in the 60’s but that was before my time.
