I’ve been having a lot of fun with this thing the past couple of years. I’ve caught crappies, sunnies, cats, mudpuppies, and even a couple of sturgeon. Basically it’s a modified aqua vu micro. I am using the aqua vu micro manager reel which is essentially a fly reel. I took that reel and mounted it to a custom made rod that allows the entire camera to pass through the eyes and a 6ft extension cable running to the monitor. From the camera head I run a dropper line with like 4 or 6lb mono tied to a jig or hook of my choice. The length of the leader can be adjusted based on water clarity. The best part is that even in the murkiest of waters, with the IR light you can use it after dark. In this particular video it was 35FOW after dark in stained water. The camera cable is 22lb test so the mono will break before the cable will. It’s a lot of fun!

that looks pretty fun. I’d imagine getting a little motion sickness if you had to jig a lot, though.

The reel is $150, so its not cheap….but it does come with a camera and cable as well. http://www.aquavu.com/Products/Aqua-Vu-New-Underwater-Cameras/MICROREEL

I don’t think its a replacement for a nice light rod and jig, but it’s pretty cool to drill a grid across a weedline and run around with this camera strapped to your chest and just dropping down in each hole. Also would make a good recovery tool when things that shouldn’t go down the hole…do.

Pretty sweet. I’d like a set up like that when trolling for walleye on Erie in May. That way I would know when a white perch has picked my crawler harness clean.
