Can someone please tell me what makes for the best fishing high pressure or low pressure. So basicly i want to know if a raising barometer or a falling barometer is best for fishing or does it not mater

    Falling or low

Both of those are best. I have also found that consistent pressure also will mean good fishing. The fish get into a pattern and stick with it until the pressure changes again.

Rapidly falling barometric pressure is the best time (high to low). Extended lows can lead to poor fishing, as can those clear blue cloudless skies associated with very high pressure periods.

I like rapidly falling pressure the best too but sometimes the fish don’t know that. I’ve had some of my best days river walley fishing during the middle of the day, bright and sunny, during the middle of a long period on high pressure and some of my worst days in conditions I thought would be ideal. Bottom line, go when you can, it’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get.

Go fishing whenever you can and screw the barometer. Take some notes while you’re out there and keep a journal. Just the act of writing this information down puts it deeper in the memory banks and it won’t take long for you to see successful patterns develop with regard specific barometric conditions and then you’ll always have that journal to help guide you.

They always gotta eat! I agree that falling or low is slightly better, but only marginally. I have never let the barometer affect whether I go or not, it’s just another factor I pay attention to for future reference. But as stated some of the best fishing can be had during high pressure as well!
