    http://news.yahoo.com/major-survey-shows-gun-ownership-132558989.html

Gun ownership declining? How can that be with records gun sales? I call bullshit. I think the anti’s make a statement like this just to get the ball rolling and to support a much later statement saying not enough people have guns to warrant their legality.
I may be off but I just dont trust ANYTHING that is anti firearm.

    Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

In addition to the issue of weather or not respondents are telling the truth, there is a bias in terms HOW you count.

The overall number of individual gun owners is up. But if you count them in terms of “households”, it’s down.

Look at it this way. In the 1960s, about 78% of American households reported owning a car. That number is virtually unchanged today.

But there are MILLIONS more cars on the road. Why? Because households own 2, 3, and 4 cars now instead of just one.

    Lies, damned lines, statistics.

I agree it’s for sure a bunch of lies and also what slack said about saying no to a random survey call. They always have to find some way to try and make their side seem right whistling

Why don’t you come on over and find out!

Garbage in, garbage out. Who needs a damn survey when all you need to do is check gun sale records. I’d also bet the stats show more crimes and accidents involving guns. I don’t recall stories of toddlers pulling mommy’s hand gun out of her bag in a shopping cart years ago.

Agree – BS. Just like the recent story about Minn permit to carry numbers. Story implied permit numbers are down. Not true. Right now there are more permit holders than ever before. The only number that was down were new applications. Of course new apps will be down after everyone who wants a permit has one – DUH!!!

Its called rhetoric. Doesn’t mean its false… just presented in a way that is intended to persuade. Both sides of every argument do this constantly to sway people to their side.

Below is today’s Government Relations Update from the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation)

Gun Ownership Declining? Don’t Believe It
While an Associated Press story this week selectively cited the latest General Social Survey (GSS) finding that gun ownership has declined in recent years, several other sources show Americans are embracing gun ownership. As NSSF President Steve Sanetti points out in a blog post reprinted by the Daily Caller, the GSS is in reality counting the number of individuals willing to disclose to a stranger at their front door how many firearms they own.
