Ted Thompson could of spent a little more on the offensive side, Capers should of been given the boot 5 years earlier. McCarthy good coach, but didn’t evolve with the game. And now we have a new defensive coordinator that hasn’t done a very good job with the teams he’s been with according to his record.as far as drafting heavy on the defensive side, the old line of thought is defense wins titles, not sure if it’s as relevant today as it was 5-10 years ago.

When is that investment in the defense going to payoff? 13th in points this year. Since 2017 they’ve used top 2 round picks on Kevin King, Josh Jones, Josh Jackson, Jaire Alexander, Rashon Gary, and Darnell Savage. Out of those 6 picks, I’d only consider Jaire Alexander above league average.

Alexander, Savage, and Gary are pretty solid.King,Jones, and Jackson are from the Thompson/Capers era.Capers wouldn’t know talent if it bit him in the ass, Thompson wanted bargain bin players,His mind set was more is better if if they were junk to begin with.
and they drafted more on the offensive side the last 2 years than any of the years under Thompson/Capers.

Ill throw this out there. I loved Farve, though he was a good old boy. He didn’t seem like he was all about himself. Just a good team player. You found out different the last 3 years he was with the Packers. Gave the old “I’m retiring” story so he didn’t have to come to training camp. Yea it was good for everybody else but I don’t like it so I’m not showing up. So who is more arrogant Rogers or Farve?

I dunno. Farve got paid and was able to get outa there. Erin got paid and will get himself outa there.

Looks like a dead heat to me.

This thread has been awesome jester

Just because the Packers don’t win the Superbowl every year they’re wasting talent??

Sure it would be awesome to dominate the entire league year in and year out, but dominating the Vikings fans complaining here right now is almost as satisfying.

They’ll be waking up in cold sweats with Aaron Rodgers telling them to r-e-l-a-x in their dreams rotflol

    See you guys next year!

    15-8-1
For his career, Rodgers boasts a 15-8-1 record against the Vikings, trailing only the Bears and Lions in terms of winning percentage against an opponent. He has thrown for 5,839 yards and 47 touchdowns against the Vikings, and both of those totals rank higher than against any other team.Oct 30, 2020

Add another victory and another 3 tds to the numbers along with a pile of yards after this was written

For his career rodgers boasts a 1-4 record when a trip to the super bowl is on the line. I repeat 1-4 record when a trip to the super bowl is on the line.

Greatness is measured in how you perform under the bright lights not how many yards you throw in some regular season games. Carry on

5 championship games in the last 10 or so years. Guess all the bad drafts and free agent pick ups are catching up with them

What’s really scary for divisional teams and haters is the way the Packers have been drafting the last three years since Gutenkist took over.
His first round picks alone starting with Jaire Alexander now considered the best 2 or 3 shutdown corners in the league along with Darnell Savage who pairs with free agent pick Adrian Amos to give the Packers one of the best safety duos in the league. Then mix in edge Rashan Gary the “mistake” who is starting to terrorize quarterbackbacks AND hold the edge. Throw in 2nd round pick and all pro Elgin Jenkins at any position on the O line you ask him to play and I see an Elway- like finish to Rodgers career within reach.
The old dodgeball coach seems to be off to a pretty good start also. 26-6 regular season. 2-2 in the playoffs and he never had a head coaching job before. Things are doom and gloom in Green Bay. HA!
Oh ya and a shiny new quarterback in Love who at face value of lightning a fire under Rodgers alone seems to be worth the pick.
Based on Gutenkist recent 1st round draft hits we could be in for a very very very (favre = 1st very, rodgers is 2nd very, love is 3rd very) long run.

Everything stated still does not justify the Pack having HOF quality QB’s for 30+ years and only 2 SB wins, that is the point. Underachievers! I am actually happy the fans and the team are soooo proud that they can win the NFC North and have a quick exit from the playoffs every year. So complacent with mediocrity, when they are so close by just making a few moves or drafting need instead of future, they could win more. It actually hurts the Pack that the Vikes, Bears and Lions are so bad, that it gives the Pack a false sense of being good every year, when they are just looser just like those 3 teams, every year.

And as far as being good for the next few years because they drafted so well on defense, here are the 24 free agent players on a team that is already over the cap, so pretty good players on this list that definitely hurts the team –

That is like the 4th time you have stated that, and it is quite the opposite. I am a football fan. I was pulling for Rodgers to win, I think he deserves to win another Superbowl, if they could just support him with a better team. Even though I really like Mahomes, I also was pulling for Brady to win, more in spite of the arrogance of Bellichek, to prove him wrong, but none the less because I like GOAT players.

Its not jealousy of the Packers, its facts that the Pack are cheating Rodgers greatness. I could care less about it that way. coffee
