After multiple surgeries on my arm, I’m finally able to get back to fishing after 4 years. I upgraded all my ice gear and set with that. My dilemma is summer rods. I plan on getting nice rods, but I’m curious as to what others are using or could recommend for length, power, and action. Here are the setups I am looking for. Appreciate the help in advance!

    -throwing jigs and plastics
    -crankbaits
    -drop shotting

Well I hate to say it you can get a Med heavy to cover most of it, minus the drop shot, I have a question what type of crankbaits like Shallow, Medium, Deep?

Mainly shallow and medium. I was thinking a 7 ft Medium with a moderate action for cranks

One good rod could cover everything for you.
Everyone may like something different, but I like:
Crankbaits: 7′ to 7′-6″ medium, moderate action
Drop shot: 7’-6” medium light, x-fast action
Tossing jigs: 7’ medium heavy, x-fast action

My go to, do-it-all type of rod is a 7 foot medium/heavy fast action. Seems to do well with just about everything.

I’m a medium fast and medium-light extra-fast kind of guy. Running 3-ways, I pick any old rod I have laying around with a little stiffer action, I’m not picky.

the headline reads like something one might find in a mens magazine..sorry, long week.

Hope your arm allows you to still get after it

The. Three rods I never leave home without are my 7′ MH fast, 7’6″ m glass with a moderate fast action and a 6’6″ ml fast spinning rod the cranking glass rod has 20# flouro, MH has 30# braid and the finesse rod has 10# braid and 8# 6′ flouro leader
