i live in Minnesota and a local lake is loaded up with ducks and geese its usually a fishing lake so i dont know if its open to hunting or not. it does not say anything in the regulations book about being closed to waterfowl hunting but MN regulations are as clear as mud. any help would be greatly appreciated.

location??? is it a city or county park? is it inside a refuge (Rochester) there are quite a few of locations just as you mentioned around Rochester and 99% of them are not fair game to hunt. if I were you id leave the roost alone and follow em to a field get permission to hunt it and beat em there the next day. once you bust the roost or loafing spot there gone especially on water when its this cold.

it’s outside the city limits and not inside a park or refuge , i dont really want to give up the name of it because last year there was about 6 or 7 parties trying to get on them.

Go to the DNR web site and get the name of the CO in your area and either give him a call or send him an email. I sent an email to my local CO this fall and he replied in less than 30 minutes with the exact info I needed.
