Helix snapshot question

Just bought a Helix 9 mega SI unit. Took some snapshots with the micro SD card in. Noticed that when I remove the chip the photos remain on the unit. Is this normal? Also when I tried to download the pics on my computer, it just says that the chip is encrypted and doesn’t show the photos. I’m not very computer savvy so please take it easy on this old boy.

Did you change snapshots setting to save on sd card?
Is the sd card under 32mb? That’s all that’s allowed. Anything larger and it won’t work as well

This link describes how to do it.

The “hold” part is the most important part:

Press and hold the “Mark” button to take a screenshot. This will also mark a waypoint

A notification will pop up saying a screen shot was created.

There is a link to a video on that page also.

I’m using a 16gb card. The unit is taking the photo because I can see them on there, even when I pull the card out. But when I try to download on my laptop it just shows up as encrypted. I have formatted the card and still get the same results.

Just tried it with a 4gb card and worked. I would try different cards if you haven’t already. Maybe your card is locked?
