I have a helix 9 msi g4n that will flash the digital display even while trolling. So it must be losing the bottom. It also does not show anything on the bottom in 2D. With di I can see fish. Anyone know how to correct this? Would wiring it to the battery help as it is now wired to the fuse box. Dealer said do the update so I did but haven’t been able to test it yet. I don’t have high hopes.

Mine was just doing this and my 2d sonar transducer was bad , not sure what you have but I have the msi and a 2d high speed transducer. My depth was all over and flashing bottom was all chopped up. New transducer and working perfectly now.

I just have the msi transducer. Does the high speed 2d transducer work well at faster speeds for you? I haven’t decided if it’s worth more money.

Yes I get good 2d readings up to around thirty.

Flashing means it’s lost bottom signal. Check transducer location, elevation and attitude . Set max depth in your sonar tab to 100 instead of auto. Possibly change to saltwater instead of fresh. DI reads because it is much less sensitive to an improper transducer install. Or, transducer is bad, but, if it’s reading 2d while setting still, it’s working and is something else.

It flashes even while sitting still. Tried moving transducer up and down. I leveled the transducer and still does it.
