Helix 9 for ice fishing

Looking to use the gps on my helix 9 for ice fishing, I only want it for the map chip. Can anyone tell me what I need to hook it up?

Should only need a power cord spliced into female spade connectors. Then I’d Ram mount it to a vexilar caddy.

Or alligator clips off the power cord to a battery.

What about the Helix 9 Mega SI?
Does it support flasher mode?
Anyone no of a good case the Helix 9 will fit in?

Well I went to Cabelas yesterday and they had the Helix 9 Mega SI on display. No flasher mode and boy is it bigger than I thought. So I am out on using that for both open and hard water.

Yeah, the Helix 9 is the same size as the 10, just a smaller screen. I would say they’re too big for Ice fishing. Plus the amp draw on those bigger units with all the do-dads will drain a flasher battery pretty quick. Not saying it isn’t do-able, but it may be a pain.
