I’m looking to use my helix 9 from my boat for strictly the gps this winter. It looks like I just need the pc11 cord for power. It says to use an inline fuse. My question is does anyone know what size of fuse I should use?

    I believe most use a 15-30amp. I think my 7″ Garmin uses a 20 or 25.

It should say in your manual but I thought it was a 3 amp.

You may do some damage with fuses that large if you have an issue. The specs call for a 3 amp slow-blow fuse in a Helix 9 and a 4 amp slow-blow fuse in a Helix 9 G2N. They don’t require a whole lot of power.

I agree, a 3 amp inline fuse is a great plenty. Any larger if you do have an issue you may cause damage. I run a lowerance elite 7 all winter on a 3amp fuse off of my 4 wheeler, no issues at all.

3 amp. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you to use anything bigger.

Thanks for all the replies. I’ll go with the 3 amp.
