Helix 7 SI and DI issues, transducer placement

Hi I am getting terrible readings on both side and down imaging. Screen is mostly black with a few yellow blips here and there. I’ve watched hours of YouTube vids on how to fine tune sensitivity and contrast and made sure the unit was set to the right transducer. Nothing is working at all. Assuming the unit is okay and it must be user error…I’ve decided it must be my transducer placement after watching youtube videos of transducer placements. I have a jon boat with flotation pods on the rear and a jet outboard and that doesn’t leave really any place to put my transducer. I did my best guess and failed. Any suggestions on how to mount a transom transducer on this set up? I’ve attached a picture of my current set up for reference. Any help is appreciated! Thank you

I can’t be sure but it looks like your hull placement is in an area of lots of turbulence and air bubbles not good for reading the bottom or side imaging. I’m not sure of the best placement on your hull with just that picture. You may have to test several spots with a board and clamp.
