Helix 7 g2 users

Hello, I just purchased this unit in October and haven’t got it on the ice yet. At the iceshow a guy said the first thing I had to do was change sonar off of open water and change user settings to advanced. I did this and the flasher view doesn’t even show up? I’ve also installed the most recent update. When on ice mode the flasher view just doesnt show up. If I restore to default it the flasher view comes up. I guess I’m confused cause the guy I talked to was a humminbird employee. I want to make sure I have best settings before I got the ice. I plan to use the flasher sonar 2d split view. If anyone could help or give some general settings that would be awesome. Thanks.

I believe you need to turn on the flasher screen once In advanced mode

Turn unit on. Hit menu key twice. Go to views ensure flasher view is enabled.

Thanks but when in ice mode flasher view doesn’t appear to let me make it visible. I’ll post some pics.

I also noticed the transducer doesn’t show right either. Maybe I don’t know what the heck I’m doing but something seems odd. It’s almost like the default is ice mode even though it says open water. When i do a restore it shoes open water but I can see flasher views and transducer reads correctly.

Are you sure you have the ICE version? Do you have the XI 9 1521 Transducer? Check the yellow tag on the ducer cable to confirm model.

If it is right, make sure the cable is connected securely.

When you power it up, the unit should update the software to ice mode with a software upgrade.

Once that is compete all your ice screens should be available.

Couple other things if tis doesn’t work, Check to see that the ducer type above is listed in the sonar drop down. Check to see if you are in ICE mode.

Yes it is the ice helix. Maybe I am just reading it wrong. Under sonar is it saying if I push right it will go to open water or is it saying the mode now is currently open water? I’m thinking the guy I talked to gave me some bad info and the default is the ice mode on the helix.

I have the same unit, this what I have for settings:

1. Menu button twice, left or right to sonar tab.
Scroll to bottom, it should say Open Water, if so you are in Ice
Mode. (you would hit the right arrow for open water unit would
reboot in open water mode)
2. Under the Set Up tab, User Mode: Advanced
3. Under the Views tab I currently have these Visible: Flasher/Sonar
View, Flasher/Sonar Zoom View, Flasher View.
