Hello all. So I’m pulling the trigger on a new helix 7 unit in the next couple days. Couple questions for all you humminbird experts. First has anyone used the 7 g3n mega di for ice fishing with the di boat transducer? Will it give me a better picture of what is below my ice hole? Does the 7 g3n mega di have the same features like the jig charge mode that the ice helix has? Is the target separation on the g3n the same as the ice unit? I have a first gen ice helix 5 gps so I’m familiar with humminbird. I also have the 35 45 and 55 ice units. Love all of them but take alot of people out on the ice so for my personal unit I want the 7. Im more of an ice guy then a summer guy. I row the boat and float rivers in the summer while the wife fishes. So in that case do I just get the ice helix? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don’t know about the jig charge mode but to my knowledge the Helix 7 G3N is the same unit whether it’s used for ice fishing or on a boat. I use a Helix 7 for ice fishing in the winter and on my boat in the summer although I use an ice transducer in the winter.
