When I use the SI I can only see the breaks and depth changes, I never see any real structure like rocks etc like I see on TV. I have tried many of not all of the various settings but not much changes.
Not needing a tutorial I was just wondering what you guys see on SI and what you really use it for?

Are you sure there is something there to see?

Some lakes and parts of rivers are pretty boring structure-wise.

A 7″ screen won’t show a ton of detail, especially zoomed out. Try changing your range down to 40-50′ and see if it gets better.

In general, fish are more difficult to see when they’re on a hard bottom (rock, sand, gravel) compared to a soft bottom. But you should have no problem seeing fist-sized rocks, logs, weed clumps, etc especially zoomed in

Mine showed structure right out of the box.

I helped set up a helix 7 for a friend yesterday. Within 15 minutes he was reading rocks and fish.

Rocks on the right fish on the left.

    Is your transducer mounted correctly?

is yours a Mega unit? probably why you do not see that detail. still got to get those fish to bite even if they are seen.

That is amazing, I have mine set to 70 I’m wondering if the reduction to 45 might help? I thought about the transducer being off but other than level I’m not sure what adjustments to make?

Is it level while in the water in both directions, range down to 50 definitely helps, then play with speed and some other settings until you start seeing more.

Thanks Dusty, I’m going to check that before I get back on the water.
If I could get anything close to what Joe posted I’d be a happy camper!

The megahertz units are like watching HD vs 480p. You can see streaks as the fish scatter near the boat…..pretty neat
