I’m looking to buy a fish finder for my pontoon. I bought the pontoon at the end of the summer so I am new to boating and fish finders for open water. I don’t need anything too fancy I was thinking of getting the helix 7 after ready as much as I can but after getting it narrowed down to that, there’s a bunch of different models. I have come up with the Humminbird Helix 7 G2 DI GPS Fish Finder (410300-1) is he exact model I want to buy. I live in central Iowa and saylorville will be the primary destination, but will take a few trips to Minnesota to fish with the family. Any and all suggestions please send them my way.

You might want to spend a few dollars more and get the (G2N) networkable version.

It will allow you to connect two Himminbirds or a I-Pilot Link to your Helix 7 in the future.

That would be my choice. grin

Son-in-law installed a Helix 7 DI G2N on his pontoon last summer. He is really happy with it. The map view works great for lake cruising and the depth finder is great for getting on spots to fish. Good choice.
