Advice needed. I have a helix 5 DI GPS that came with a boat I bought. I do not believe it is a CHIRP model and it looks like it’s discontinued. Trying to get it set up for ice fishing. It has ice fishing mode in setting but I can’t figure out what transducer is needed. I don’t think they make this model helix anymore and from what I’m reading on the humminbird website the ice transducers they make won’t work for my helix but not sure. If anyone has knowledge on the subject I would appreciate it.

Call humminbird directly and ask them! there’s too many different models of birds to ever get anything with them straight lol

if you want to keep dual beam (200 and 455khz) on the ice you need to use this transducer and loop the cord

I ran that for 5 years with a g1 helix 5 di/gps on the ice. Being able to switch to 455khz 16* beam eliminates all interference you would have fishing next to other 200khz devices
Here is how you loop the cord

You can use the standard, non chirp xi 9 20 ice ducer for 200khz only on a di unit

use it in open water graph mode, set you max depth (don’t use auto), adjust the surface clutter and sensitivity to see your jig, and set the ping rate to ultra. In advanced mode you can set your attached transducer to 2d instead of auto/di
